REMEMBERING CARBIDE's SUMMER CAMPS -- 28th=20 Year Reunion!

 Save the Dates! =
Once again,=20 we will be hosting an informal mini-reunion during the weekend of=20 July 16-18,=20 2010. We'll have the usual meet-and-greet = get-together on=20 Friday night, and the visit to Blue Creek on = Saturday/Sunday!

We'll also do a = little planning=20 for the BIG 30th reunion in 2012
-- 30 years since the = last=20 camping summer on the Creek!

FRIDAY, JULY 16: An informal get together = beginning at=20 approximately 6:00pm = at the FOP=20 Hall in Charleston. = Their bar=20 and beer prices are excellent, and we'll have some pizza and wings = on=20 order!
Directions: From I-64 = Dunbar Exit, take=20 Roxalana=20 Rd. to WV St. = Rt. 62. Turn left onto 62, go 1/2mile = and turn=20 right onto Woodrum's Lane. Go 1/4 mile to FOP on the right. There = should=20 be signs posted.

You can also take WV 62 = at the=20 intersection in North=20 Charleston where the Cold Spot is. Just follow = it=20 approx. 1 mile to Woodrum's Lane on the right, and go 1/4 mile to = FOP on=20 the right.

SATURDAY, JULY 17: Visit the former campsites on = Blue=20 Creek. Campers can make their way out to The Creek late morning = and meet=20 at the Hunting & Fishing Club, with informal visits to = the =20
Camelot and Carlisle campsites during = the=20 afternoon. We will be using the Hunting & Fishing Club only as = a=20 rendezvous point this year - overnight will be at the Camelot or=20 Carlisle sites.

OVERNIGHT CAMPING: For those interested in = overnight=20 camping, we will be camping at the former Camelot & Carlisle=20 campsites.

NOTE: Food is BYO this year. (We're saving up for = 2012=20 and the BIG 30th!) So if you're going to get hungry while = at the=20 Creek, you must plan on one of the following options:

a) fishing for your dinner in the creek
b) = catching=20 and cooking the appropriate wildlife in the area
c) = stealing=20 Randy's can of beans out of the campfire before it explodes =
d)=20 bringing something with you...

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: Visitors often stay at the Wingate Inn located at=20 402 Second = Avenue,=20 South Charleston. = (304)=20 744-4444. This and other nearby hotels are listed when you do a = Google=20 search for South Charleston Hotels.

We look forward to seeing you this July as we make our annual=20 pilgrimage to The Creek! Stay tuned for updates as they develop = and check=20 the camp website http://www.carbidecamps.net/, or = the=20 Carbide Camps Facebook page for updates, information and details. =
