The patch, picture and button belonged to Robert G. Lilley, my dad, and I found them when clearing out his house after his death in 2002. Carbide was very, very good to us during my growing-up years. The plant picture is South Charleston, of course. You can sese Interstate 64 under construction along Kanawha Terrace on the left, the patrick Street bridge in the foreground, and the old Kelly Axe Factory (later Tru-Temper) in the lower right. That's now a mall.

The mainland, Blaine Island and North Charleston areas are visible, and the overall visibility is excellent -- all the way downriver to the John Amos power plant.
